A NEW community facility to help children and young people with challenging behaviour is to open in West Kilbride.

As part of Aspire Scotland, the brand new facility on the outskirts of the village of will create 15 jobs in the local area and hopes to establish close links with the local community.

This is the eighth service for Aspire Scotland, whose head office is based in Kilbirnie.

Founded in 2010 with a workforce of 16, the dedicated company has grown over the years and now employs well over 170 members of staff across their facilities

The company, which was part of an acquisition from The Priory Group in November 2017, receives support from the public and private sector partners who make up ‘Team North Ayrshire’ – an approach which sees partners working together to help local businesses realise their ambitions.

The business provides residential and community-based education for children and young people who exhibit challenging behaviour arising from social, emotional and complex learning needs.

They aim to ensure the young people in their care grow up with the ambitions, opportunities and skills they need to make a positive difference to their lives.

Once opened, the service will provide a relaxed environment for five children and young people to learn in surroundings through a provision which offers a spacious farmhouse with private land surrounding.

This will give them the opportunity to flourish and develop in therapeutic and nurturing conditions.
