A 34-year-old man who crashed his car into a pole while three times the limit is to be sentenced.
John Wallace drove a car on the A78 at Ardrossan with 72 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on December 29. The legal limit in Scotland is 22 micrograms.
in 100. Wallace also drove the car without due care or attention or reasonable consideration for other road users.
He drove at excessive speed for the road conditions, causing his vehicle to leave the carriageway, collided with and damaged a telegraph pole and caused injury to himself.
Wallace, of Main Street in West Kilbride, pled guilty to two charges at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
Wallace, who was disqualified from driving, will return for sentence on February 19.
