TWO men have been handed community payback orders after a string of shoplifting offences.
Steven Andrews of Drumbrochan Road and Kris Black of Wylie Crescent pled guilty to the offences at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.
Andrews initially committed two offences on his own at Asda on Townhead Street, on 14 and 23 November last year before Black, while on bail, assisted a string of further offences.
Both men were caught stealing a quantity of soap powder together on two separate occasions on November 23.
Sheriff Montgomery handed Black a community payback order as an alternative to custody where he must complete 150 hours of unpaid work within a six-month period. He was also be under supervision for a period of 12 months.
Andrews was also given a community payback order where he must complete 100 hours of unpaid work within three months.
