THE Annual Ayrshire Christmas Tractor and Lorry Run set off from Caponacre Industrial Estate, Cumnock recently.

This year’s record breaking run saw 162 tractors and lorries take part and over £7,000 was raised for charity.

Raffle tickets were on sale on the day with prizes including tickets to Ayr races, a trip to New Holland’s factory, gift vouchers, jackets, toy tractors and much more.

Blair McIlwraith – tractor driver and organiser – said: “We’ve done a rough count and the total raised is between £7,000 and £8,000, we’ve still got two or three bits to come in as well.

“There were 162 lorries or tractors came on the run this year, we had just under 100 last year.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has helped out and supported us with the event and also everyone who has donated and attended the run as well.

“We’re hoping to keep this as an annual event and we’re aiming to go again on the same date next year.”
