SANQUHAR Primary School has been named a Highly Commended School following a Christmas card competition.
Pupils from the school were praised for their artistic skills and enthusiasm after entering a competition to design the Christmas card for local MP David Mundell and MSP Oliver Mundell.
The father and son duo release a joint Christmas card every year and a panel of independent judges – who selected the winning design – selected the school as highly commended.
Sanquhar Primary received a prize and participating pupils a certificate to mark their achievement.
David Mundell said: “We consistently receive a large and high standard of entries from Sanquhar and I’m pleased the judges acknowledged this when making their choice.”
Oliver Mundell added: “All the pupils participating did a good job and Sanquhar are deserving winners in this year’s Highly Commended School category.”
