CATRINE will light up for another Christmas Extravaganza on Sunday, December 9.

Make Catrine Sparkle continues to build on the success of the inaugural Christmas Lantern Parade in 2017 for a day of festive fun.

Catrine Community Council and Catrine Community Action Plan have been joined by the community's elves as they busily organise things.

There will be an Outdoor Christmas Market this year with various stalls, while local cafés and businesses will be open to support the event .

This fun-filled free celebration kicks off at the Mill Square, Catrine around 3pm when the Christmas market opens selling an array of arts and crafts.

Santa will be in his Grotto and there will face-painting, raffle prizes and hair sparkles as well as a lantern parade at 5pm, from Lodge St. John, Sorn Street.

Maybole Pipe Band will lead the spectacular walk through the village to Mill Square where the local champion will switch on the Christmas tree at 6pm.

Pupils from Catrine Primary School pupils and the villagers will be singing their hearts out to get everyone in the Christmas Spirit.

A spokeswoman for the organisers said: "If you wish to browse the market stalls, pop into our local cafés for some mince pies and mulled wine and watch Jack Frost 'Make Catrine Sparkle’ even brighter please come along and join the fun, but remember to wear your Christmas jumper and hat."
