Local schoolchildren ensured The Knowe Garden Centre will be awash with colour in the spring.
They got their hands dirty when getting involved in the Bulb Planting Day, organised by the team at ACDI.
It was a very busy day for staff at The Knowe, with almost 100 people visiting throughout the day to plant bulbs.
Stuart Mitchell, ACDI’s events and activities co-ordinator said: “We had both a morning and afternoon class from Auchinleck Early Education Centre, P3/4 and P4/5 from St Patrick’s Primary and P6/7 from Auchinleck Primary.
“All the bulbs have been planted by local schoolchildren and residents bulb planting events one year ago and last Thursday. Most recent additions to the range of bulbs include daffodils, crocus and anemone.
“Children were fascinated when they found worms and were enchanted watching them wriggle around in their hands before putting them back in the soil."
