Funding for a beacon to commemorate the centenary of the 1918 Armistice has been donated to the Ochiltree community.
Morrison Construction handed over a cheque for £432 to cover the cost of the beacon while Barr Environmental and Calor in Ayr have donated their services to light it.
Alex Baird, Ochiltree Community Hub chairman, said: “Morrison Construction, Barr Environmental and Calor in Ayr have gone out of their way to make this happen without any cost to the community council or community association.
"There will be a service in the church at 6.30pm before we make our way to the light the beacon at the war memorial at 7pm along with every other community doing something similar.
"Thanks to the three companies who have helped make this possible. We’re looking for the community to turn out – either at the church or the war memorial – on Sunday and commemorate the lives that were lost.”
