AUCHINLECK will create an everlasting tribute to those who gave their lives in the two world wars.
It follows extensive research carried out by Rab McMurdo which has culminated in a poignant document being placed in Auchinleck Library.
An individual and comprehensive record of every soldier who paid the ultimate price will be embodied in its pages — including those who are not on the Auchinleck war memorial.
There were 11 men in World War I and 12 in World War II whose stories have been discovered by Mr McMurdo’s research and, in conjunction with East Ayrshire Council, their names are to be added to the monument.
