RAIDERS made off with a haul worth more than £4,000 after breaking into a property in broad daylight.

As well as the money value of a number of pieces of jewellery, the sentimental cost to the owner is immeasurable.

It happened between 12.45pm and 5.30pm on October 2, at a house in Peesweep Brae in Lugar.

A spokesman for Cumnock Police said: “A number of items were stolen after entry was forced to get into the house.

“Among the property stolen was cash, a camera, a laptop and several items of jewellery, totalling around £4,500.

“It is understood that the sentimental value of the jewellery is considerable and we are urging anyone with information to contact us.

“Call PC Fraser at Cumnock Police Office on 101 or Crimestoppers at 0800 555111 if you can help.”
