TWO dance academy pupils from Cumnock will head to Glasgow next month after successfully auditioning to be part of a stage musical.

Friends Darcie Magee, 11, and Olivia Dumigan, 12, will be part of the children’s ensemble for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the King’s Theatre.

They were two of over 200 kids who took part in the auditions earlier this year.

But their skills helped them standout from the crowd and land a spot in the show.

The PA Dance Academy pupils will take to the stage on Tuesday, October 9 until Thursday, October 11.

Olivia’s mum Paula was very happy for them both.

She said: “Darcie and Olivia successfully auditioned from over 200 kids in Glasgow in May 2018 and were chosen to be part of the kid’s ensemble for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

“Both girls love to perform, Olivia is a member of East Ayrshire Youth Theatre and both girls dance together with local school PA Dance Academy.

“They are both really excited.

“They didn’t expect to get chosen so we’re all absolutely delighted.

“It’s a brilliant achievement.

“Obviously, it’s at the King’s Theatre so they can’t wait to get their first chance to perform.”
