TWO people had to be rescued from a river after a road traffic collision in the early hours of Monday morning.
They had been travelling on Castle Road in Dalmellington at around 3am when the incident occurred and their vehicle ended up in the water.
Both occupants of the car had to be taken to Ayr Hospital where they were treated for hypothermia while one also received head injuries in the crash.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters from Dalmellington attended a road traffic collision on Castle Road, Dalmellington on September 24 at 3.03am.
"One private car had left the road and landed in the river. The two occupants of the car were taken to Ayr Hospital suffering from hypothermia and one also had injuries to his head."
