VOLUNTEERS from the Four Connections Youth and Toddler Group in Netherthird welcomed the local community to an open night.

They are a registered charity and have recently completed refurbishment of their premises in Ryderston Drive with the help of a grant from the Minerals Trust.

As well as giving visitors a chance to see behind the scenes, the team launched this season's youth club at the open night.

Jane McAusland, a group trustee, said: "I would like to thank everyone who came and made it a success, in particular Councillors Jacqui Todd and Jim McMahon and Emma Waugh from Vibrant Communities."

"Our youth clubs have now re-opened, cost is £1.50 per session including a snack. Anyone able to volunteer a couple of hours a week is asked to please get in touch."

Monday: P4 to P7 aged pupils; Wednesdays: secondary school students and Thursdays for youngsters in primaries one, two and three, from 6pm to 8pm each evening.
