A PERVERT who downloaded vile images of children has been placed on the sex offenders register.

Christopher Clark, of Atholl House in Cumnock admitted to having 19 indecent photographs of children between the ages of nine and 11, saved to a Dropbox account.

The court heard how the 32-year-old was found with the images after police conducted an unannounced home visit on May 10, 2017 and requested Clark’s Samsung S6 Edge mobile phone – this showed the disturbing contents of Category C indecent images of children.

During a police interview at Kilmarnock Police officer on August 1, 2017, Clark told officers that he was the ‘sole owner’ of the mobile phone and admitted to viewing normal porn – he then told that ‘the files downloaded were a mistake’ and he thought that he had deleted them.

Clark appeared before Sheriff Desmond Leslie at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

Sheriff Leslie said: “You’re already subject to an order. As this offence took place prior to the order I’ll deal with this by way of a fine.”

Clark pled guilty to taking or permitting to be taken or making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children – he pled not guilty to a charge of being in possession of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children which was accepted by the Procurator Fiscal.

He was fined £500 and placed on the sex offenders register for five years.
