FUNDRAISING by pupils at Drongan Primary School earned them second place in a UK-wide charity challenge.
P7B took part in Wildheart’s Micro-Tyco challenge where they were given £1 and were tasked with making as much profit as possible.
The challenge started with a pyjama day which saw their £1 invested into posters to advertise the day which made over £200.
That money was then invested in a cupcake and cookie sale, stationary shop, guess the teddy’s birthday and a sponsored give-up as they made a total of £1,058.04.
Teacher Tom McFadzean was delighted with their efforts. He said: “We took part in the Micro Tyco project which is part of the Wildhearts Charity. Basically, the class were given £1 and they had to try and turn that into as much money as possible.
“The kids managed to make £1,058 profit and were awarded the trophy for placing second across the whole of the UK for primary schools. They did excellent, it definitely is a big achievement.
“I’m proud of them, they worked really hard and it was all their own ideas.”
