A LOOK at what goes on behind the doors of East Ayrshire’s Divisional Police HQ is on offer this weekend.

Members of the public are being invited along to Kilmarnock Police Station’s Open Day between noon and 4pm on Sunday, June 24.

Entry will be via the public entrance to the building which is in St Marnock Street and visitors are guaranteed an interesting afternoon. They will see a wide range of police and emergency service vehicles, chat to officers and senior management team members and watch demonstrations by specialist police units.

There will also be tours of the custody suite, a look inside the cells, and the opportunity to try their hand at fingerprinting and loads more.

East Ayrshire Area Commander, Chief Inspector John Cairns said: “There will be fun for the family with a bouncy castle, photo booths and flashing lights and sirens to test.”
