STUDENTS from Ayrshire College hosted a special dinner service recently at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh.
Under the guidance of Hospitality lecturers, Claire Anderson, Ainslay Miller and Livia Alexander, they prepared and served a three course dinner.
There were 30 invited guests to be looked after in the plush members’ restaurant, including MSPs, but the group of Professional Cookery students coped well.
Hospitality lecturer, Claire Anderson, said: “This was an outstanding evening and a wonderful experience for our students. They certainly rose to the occasion, and this experience will give them confidence and aspirations for the future. The MSPs had nothing but praise for the quality of food, and presentation."
This was the college’s third invitation to host the dinner, providing a unique experience for the students.
They even got a tour around the Parliament buildings after the dinner and, due to the success of the event, Ayrshire College has been invited back to host a fourth dinner soon.
