LUGAR-BASED Pollock Farm Machinery are stars of the show at this weekend’s Ayrshire Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club’s annual rally.
A special display marking the firm’s 150 years in business will be staged at the 34th staging of the rally at Whitefordhill Agri-Centre on the A70 Ayr-Cumnock road.
Visitors will find almost 400 exhibits on show — from classic cars to steam tractors, on Sunday, July 23, between 10.30am and 4pm. Among the superb specimens of transport on show is a steamer, once operated by T French who are also based on the A70, between Cumnock and Muirkirk.
Entries also include machinery, tools, stationery engines, commercial vehicles, bicycles, scale models and a steam roller living van. Another special feature will spotlight a century of production for Fordson, Ford and New Holland vehicles.
There will also be craft demonstrations and trade stands with wood turning, handmade jewellery and greetings cards.
A special ring event is being held this year, called Wheel of Tractors, along with a range of entertainment of fun and games and music. Prestwick Dog Agility, pony rides, a children’s straw scramble and a parade of tractors also feature.
Admission is adults £5, children and concessions £4, while car parking facilities are free.
