Pet of the Week this week is the handsome Bono who is curently being looked after by Islay Dog Rescue.

He is a lively two-year-old boy who is full of energy and just wants to play. He gets on extremely well with other dogs, in fact he may even prefer to be rehomed where he has another dog to play with.

He walks well on a lead but may be better with a harness as he is very excitable. As he is still quite young, he may require some training.

He is a lovely boy who enjoys human company. Has a real character, loves a walk and a good sniff around (typical beagle) but will put the brakes on when he has decided he wants to go home.

He has spent a long time in kennels and needs an experienced home. He has been rehomed before but began guarding the occupants in the home and not liking visitors.

His new owner would need to work with the rescue to overcome this issue, but with time, patience and positive reinforcement training we are confident this problem could be overcome. Bono cannot be rehomed where there are children as he is not fully trained and can be possessive.

Bono will be neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms and my behaviour has been fully assessed. Due to this, a minimum donation for him is £170 which goes directly to Islay Dog Rescue to help others like him.

If you would like to meet him or to find out more about him and the other dogs available, call Lorraine on 07876 561 545 or Richard on 07949 961 253.
