A MAN has been arrested after a spate of break-ins in Cumnock.
Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for his alleged involvement.
A report will now be sent to the procurator fiscal and the items recovered will be returned to their owner.
Area Commander for East Ayrshire, Chief Inspector John Cairns said: “Officers within East Ayrshire remain committed to tackling crimes of dishonesty. Working together with the community is a key factor in doing this. Members of the community assisted my officers with this enquiry and I want to state my thanks to them for their assistance. I would encourage anyone with information on those responsible for crimes of this nature to contact their local Community Policing Team .
"With the festive period now approaching householders may want to consider their home security and car security and there is more information available on the Police Scotland website about steps which can be taken to improve security.
"To contact Police Scotland call the non-emergency number 101 (in an emergency always dial 999). Information can also be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained."
