Plans for a wind farm development in south-east Ayrshire will go on display at two public exhibitions later this month.

RWE npower renewables is hosting the events at venues in Damellington and Straiton to give the community a chance to find out more about their proposed development at Glenmount, three miles to the south-west of Dalmellington.

The exhibition will include designs and plans for Glenmount and computer-generated images of how development might look. There will also be information on the various studies being undertaken to assess the potential environmental effects of the proposal.

The exhibition will also give information on RWE npower renewables' commitment to supporting the neighbourhoods where the company operates through its community benefits programme.

Members of the RWE npower renewables team will be on hand to answer any questions and discuss the development.

Project developer Alastair Yule said: "We want to work as closely as possible with local people to make sure our proposals for Glenmount are well understood. We also want to ensure that anyone who has questions regarding our proposals has a chance to speak with representatives from RWE npower renewables to have those questions answered.

"The exhibition contains a lot of useful information on all sorts of areas, from the appearance of the wind farm to the potential benefits to the community any development would bring and we are keen to discuss we can work with communities to ensure our proposal brings lasting benefits to this area."
