Questions are being asked over why refurbishment work on a local school is likely to be delayed for another two months.
The PPP project to expand and renovate Mauchline Primary School was expected to be finished before the start of the new term in August.
However, the Chronicle understands that problems involving Barr Limited and their main contractor will now mean that pupils won"t be moved in until October at the earliest.
HOWEVER, CONFUSION HAS REIGNED AFTER BARR SAID THAT THEY WERE CONFIDENT BUILDING WORK WOULD BE COMPLETED BY AUGUST, DESPITE EAST AYRSHIRE COUNCIL SAYING THEY HAVE BEEN ADVISED THE WORK WILL NOT NOW FINISH UNTIL OCTOBER.
