ARYIKU - Dr. Charles It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Charles Aryiku (AH-YEE-KOO), retired Consultant Psychiatrist and former Honorary Consulate General of Ghana, who left this world on 19/03/2023. He was 71 years of age. Charles was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew him. He was a well-respected, honourable, diligent and honest man. He will be remembered for his provision of medical and mental health services across Scotland and his dedication to building relationships between Ghana and the UK through his consular work. He will be remembered for the unconditional love he had for his family and friends and his continued wish for unity and prosperity amongst us all. Charles' life was a testament to his strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. He faced many challenges throughout his life, but never lost faith in the power of forgiveness, kindness and love. He touched countless lives with his empathy, compassion and generosity. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Charles is survived by his Wife, Cynthia, his three children; Charles, Sharon and Cheryl-Lee, and his five grandchildren; Jessica, Christelle, Cruz, Andre and Céline, who will miss him deeply. The Funeral Service will take place on Monday 17th April 2023 at St. Columba Church, Ayr, KA7 2SL at 3:00pm, followed by a reception at The Western House Hotel, Ayr, KA8 0HA, to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to honour the work of Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.
