Islay Dog Rescue have a number of dogs that remain available for adoption at their centre.

The team rescues animals from right across Europe and rehabilitates them at their centre on the outskirts of Cumnock.

The festive period is always a busy period for the centre, which often extends into January as well.

Some loving dogs remain at the centre and are waiting for their forever home.

Pepper

Cumnock Chronicle:
Pepper is a nine-year-old Border Collie cross from Romania.

She can live with another calm dog but not cats.

Pepper can be left alone at home for short periods and she is house-trained.

She would be fine with dog savvy children.

Bonnie

Cumnock Chronicle:
Bonnie is a three-year-old mixed-breed dog looking for her forever home.

She can live with another dog, cats and dog-savvy children.

Molly

Cumnock Chronicle:
Molly is a seven-year-old mixed breed looking for a new owner.

She can live with other dogs, cats and dog-savvy children.

Trip

Cumnock Chronicle:
Trip, who is around two years old, is a male Cairn terrier crossed with a Chihuahua.

He could live with other dogs and cats, but not with children.

Willow

Cumnock Chronicle:
Willow is a beautiful three-year-old German Shepherd.

She will need a quiet home with her own bedroom/boudoir, with no other dogs or cats.

She would be best suited to a couple with no children.

Roxy

Cumnock Chronicle:
Roxy is a two-year-old brought to East Ayrshire from London.

Because of her high energy and medium-to-large size, she would be best suited to an active family with older children.

She would be best as an only pet, as she will chase small furries given half a chance.

However, she does seem to get on with smaller dogs when out on walks.

Volunteers

The team at Islay is still on the lookout for volunteers over the festive period.

Whether it's walking the dogs, cleaning the areas or anything else in between, there is plenty to do to help the team with their ever-growing demand.
