I would like to take the opportunity to wish all residents of East Ayrshire, particularly those in the Ballochmyle ward, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
2023 has been a massive learning curve for me, and I have honestly loved every minute of it, meeting new people and getting to know them, learning how to be a caring, hard-working and genuine councillor.
I have also made a few re-connections, coming across some old school friends from the 1980’s as well!
There is certainly never a dull moment in Ballochmyle, and you all like to keep me on my toes, making sure I always have plenty to do. Don’t ever stop!
I have dealt with all kinds of issues since being elected - housing, gardens, roads, finance, community groups, sports clubs, local events, presentations. Who knew it was okay to support more than one football team? It never was when I was growing up!
I love my villages in Ballochmyle, and being a Drongan lassie originally, I understand village life and what matters to the people who live there. I will always do my best to support you all during these tough times.
I know for a lot of people the last few years have been particularly difficult for various reasons, and I promise that in 2024, and beyond, I will continue to help and support each and every one of you.
It will be another challenging year, however, I hope after the General Election (whenever that is), that we have a new Labour Government in power to make things better for all.
