The meeting will begin with the group’s Project Officer, Joram Smit, presenting an update on the Carrick Red Squirrel Project.

This project is conserving red squirrels in key parts of Ayrshire, with the help of local volunteers and land owners. He will also share exciting survey results which suggest the red squirrel may be making a comeback in parts of Ayrshire where it had largely disappeared. Guest speaker Angela Lloyd from Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) will then present a talk, The Importance of Bees in the 21st century.

The meeting starts at 7pm and everyone is welcome to attend. The group is now in its 13th year and the AGM provides a great opportunity for local people with an interest in native wildlife to come along, meet like-minded people and hear about some of the great conservation work that is taking place across Ayrshire.

The event is free to attend and tea and coffee will be available.
