THE annual celebration of the birth of Robert Burns is approaching and Catrine based Stenlake Publishing are marking the occasion by releasing an exhaustive new collection.
On Monday, January 20 the publishers revealed The Essential Robert , combiled by bard expert Ann Matheson.
For non-Scots speakers who have never quite ‘got’ Burns, the book is the perfect introduction to the poet, with full English translations alongside the original Scots, Ann interprets, explains and explores the poet’s best-loved works in a fresh way, helping anyone new to Burns - or put off by the language - to discover the wit, warmth and vitality of these timeless poems and songs.
To launch the book, Ann is doing an event at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Ayr on Saturday, January 25 at 2 pm.
She will be giving a presentation, followed by a signing session for her new book.
