Godfather of the folk world, Dick Gaughan

Traditional music fans will be pleased to hear that the Palace Theatre has a couple of legendary names in traditional Scottish and Irish music coming up in the next couple of weeks.

As part of the new Music Café slot, Godfather of the folk world, Dick Gaughan comes to the intimate setting of the Café Bar in the Palace Theatre on Saturday 3rd April at 8pm with tickets only £7.50. With a maximum capacity of 120, this is the ideal setting to enjoy one of the finest guitarists and masterful performers on the folk circuit.

Gaughan's album 'Handful of Earth' was voted album of the decade by readers and critics of 'Folk Roots' and his love of ancient traditional ballads and song are sure to make this a memorable evening.

On Wednesday April 14 the Palace is delighted to welcome World Champion pipe player Finbar Furey to the main theatre. The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £14.00 and £12.00 concession.

Also known for his banjo and guitar skills Furey is an ambassador for Irish traditional music. The show will feature hits from the past such as 'Sweet Sixteen', 'I Will love You' and 'Red Rose Café' in addition to some special surprises. This is a show not to be missed!
