Writer David Manderson is speaking at the Ayr Writers' Club on Wednesday 17th September 2014 at 7.30pm at The Carlton Hotel, Prestwick.

David Manderson has had numerous publications over the years that have garnered significant critical praise.

His most recent books are : Lost Bodies (2011); Best Man (2012) and The Glass Half Full: Moving Beyond Scottish Miserablism, co-authored with Eleanor Yule (2014).

He does not just sit in a dark room staring at his laptop waiting for the tap of inspiration to flow but through his work as a senior lecturer in creative writing and scriptwriting at UWS he tutors students in the ways of writing and has overseen an innovative project whereby students have collated and published a collection of short stories in a book entitled 'Unread Writers' Society' that will be launched in the autumn.

The AWC's autumn programme is a scrumptious smorgasbord of writing delights that includes talks and workshops on writing articles, novel writing, play writing, drama and pitching ideas to publishers.
