50 Shades of Blue is a folk duo that is rapidly making a name for itself throughout Central and Southern Scotland, playing at many venues, festivals and folk clubs. It consists of Lorna Jane Gracie on guitar and vocals, and Mark Donaldson on cajón, bodhran, washboard, and as he himself admits, ‘anything I can get his hands on.’ They played A’ the Airts in July last year, and are now making a welcome return on Friday July 4 at 7.30 pm. With their eclectic mix of folk, bluegrass, country and pop, they are highly entertaining and accomplished musicians. In addition, Lorna Jane is making a name for herself as a song writer, and will be featuring many of her own prize winning compositions on the evening.

They will be opening the Tiree Folk Festival on July 19, and four days later will have the honour of participating in the opening celebrations of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. So be prepared for an entertaining evening that will contain something for everyone!

Pre-event meals will be available in Café @ A’ the Airts from 6pm (booking essential) There will be a licensed bar from 7 pm and during the interval.

This is an evening not to be missed, and is sure to be popular. Tickets are a mere £8, and seats can be booked by calling A’ the Airts on 01659 50514, or calling in at 8-12 High Street, Sanquhar.
