CAMPS will be solving the problem with Maria next month, when they present the ever-popular 'Sound of Music’ in Cumnock.

The Rogers & Hammerstein musical will take to the stage in Cumnock Academy from Tuesday March 4 to Friday March 7 at 7.30pm and on Saturday March 8 at 1pm - when the audience can sing along.

Come along and enjoy the engaging and uplifting story based on the life of Maria Rainer a young postulant from Nonnberg Abbey, who met, fell in love and married the naval Captain Georg von Trapp. It is a story of getting to know and love the seven Von Trapp children, the trials of loyalties and war and how the family flee over the mountains to freedom.

It’s a well known story and songs include 'Climb Every Mountain’, 'Sound of Music’, 'Maria’, 'Sixteen Going on Seventeen’, 'Do, Re, Mi’ and many others.

Come along and enjoy the show, you can even get out the curtains, put on your habits or your lederhosen for the Saturday and join in with 'Your Favourite Things’ at the sing-a-long matinee show. There will also be a prize at the Saturday matinee show for the best dressed adult and child on the day.

Tickets cost £6 (Adults) and £4.50 (Concessions) and are available from Words of Wisdom, Kenny’s and from CAMPS members.

CAMPS are always looking for volunteers for front of house, backstage, hair, make-up, and technical crew. If you feel that you would like to try your hand with this or take to the stage contact Ciss McCreadie on 07990 751198 for further details.
