The Sundancer will be playing at the Palace Theatre Music Cafe on Friday 19th November from 8pm. After playing numerous gigs up and down the country since the launch of the debut album 5 Miles To Sunrise in April, all the hard work appears to be paying off, “I was amazed to find that in terms of popularity on the internet The Sundancer is currently vying with the likes of Sharleen Spiteri and Franz Ferdinand. In saying that, we're dependent upon every album sale and ticket purchase to pay the bills, which I'm guessing may not be the case for Alex Kapranos.” The Sundancer is a singer-songwriter originally from Ayrshire, but has now gathered a band around him for live performances and recording. The bands style has been likened to current acts such as King Creosote and The Aliens and a more vintage Kinks, T Rex and even The Monkees. “I think the Monkees reference is down to the fact that there is a sense of humour and fun running through the music.” “We're looking forward to playing at the Palace and for this gig we'll be playing acoustic guitar and djembe, which is a fantastic sounding African drum. If this sounds familiar we've twice been asked to play in Kilmarnock Town Centre to add some vibrancy and uplifting music to a Saturday and both times we received great feedback from the shoppers while playing original songs. We're pretty hot just now, having played so many gigs this year.” To find out more about The Sundancer contact Paul Brunton on 07811862697, email: sundancer_2020@yahoo.co.uk or go to www.reverbnation.com/thesundancer Also on the bill is Nick Bruce who supported Hue and Cry at The Palace and Gordon Campbell.
