The wait is almost over for this year's Christmas pantomime at the Palace Theatre as rehearsals are now in full swing.
This year's show tells the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty who pricks her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and falls into a deep sleep, only to be woken by true love's kiss!
Stars of the panto arrived in Kilmarnock last week ready to learn their lines, practise their dance steps and try on their sparkling costumes.
Kilmarnock's very own Liam Dolan is returning to the Palace to both direct and star in the panto and this year is joined by Brenda Cochrane who plays the wicked bad fairy Carabosse and Adele Rankin who plays the lovely Sleeping Beauty.
Adele said: "I am just so excited to be playing Sleeping Beauty this year! I love playing the girlie characters, as a few years ago I used to always play the boy!
"We are all having such a good time rehearsing for the start of the run later this month, and it is lovely to be back in Kilmarnock and at the Palace - it feels like coming home!"
Liam Dolan added: "The next couple of weeks are when the show really starts to come together. I will be putting the cast through their paces, making sure they know their lines and the words to all of the songs."
Imagine Theatre are returning to the Palace for their seventh year to produce the pantomime, which will feature fantastic scenery and special effects, 80 different cast costumes and more than 2km of cable for the lights and equipment - the distance between the Palace Theatre and Rugby Park!
The show runs from Wednesday, November 25 - Wednesday, December 30 2009, and tickets are selling fast!
