GOLD for Ayr Roads Cycling Club / Harry Fairbairn BMW … who came back from the British Master Track Championships in Newport at the weekend with a haul of medals. In the 70+ age category Straiton's Vic Possee won a superb Gold medal in the Points Race and Bronze in the Scratch Race. Fellow septuagenerian John Mason was also in top form winning two Silver medals in the Sprint and Time Trial Races.

It was a an early start for Kenny Armstrong and Mick Robb in the 25 mile Time Trial Championship held Sunday over the Blair Drummond Course. The duo could take inspiration from the results the previous day by their peers. The early start and long drive through to Stirling did not affect either with both finishing in the top 20 from a field of over a 100. Kenny came home in 12 th with a time of 54 minutes 47 seconds while Mick was not far behind in 18 th @ 55m 38s. These were fantastic results in a quality field of time trialists with a tight finish where half of the field finished in under an hour.

One of the contributory factors to the success of Ayr Roads Cycling Club / Harry Fairbairn BMW in time trials and the track is the club confined 10 mile Time Trial held every Thursday on the Loans A78 course. On a tough night Mick Robb was first with a time of 22:06 but result of the night had to be Sam Wakeling in 33.31 who rode on a uni-cycle setting a record ! See picture of Sam Wakeling in action, who is in the Guiness book of Records for furtherest distance travelled on a uni-cycle in 24 hours.Full results: 1. Mick Robb @ 22:06; 2. Mark Skilling @ 22:59; 3. Brian Nicol @ 23:54; 4. Neil Campbell @ 24:01; 5. Trevor Wilson @ 24:06 (PB)'; 6. Alex McAllister @ 24.06; 7. Alan Mooney @ 24:24; 8. John Paul Baxter @ 25:02; 9.
