Ayr Races return

AYR Racecourse's two day Valentine's Meeting on Friday February 12 and Saturday February 13 will see the first racing action of the year at the Craigie track.

A total of 13 races will be held with more than £104,000 in prizemoney which should ensure some top quality racing.

The first day, a replacement fixture awarded by the BHA after Ayr lost one meeting in December and two in January, features six races with the centrepiece being a £20,000 2miles four furlong hurdle due off at 3.35 pm.

The first race is off at 1.50 pm with a two mile novice hurdle and the card concludes with a three mile, 110 yard hurdle at 4.45 pm.

Saturday's card opens at 1.45 pm with the JCR Hamilton Novices Hurdle and the feature race is the victorchandler.com Handicap Chase over three miles one furlong at 2.45 pm with £18,000 on offer.

Anyone buying a ticket for the Saturday meeting will automatically be given a ticket for the Friday free of charge.
