Peter Leonard's CUMNOCK raided Hamilton Park for three points as they beat Girvan on Saturday.
Back at his old stomping ground for the first time since leaving Girvan in September, Leonard's side recorded a fourth win in six games.
James Lundie scored the only goal of the game for 10-man Cumnock who had Ray Montgomerie sent off after Paul Burns had missed a penalty.
Super League Premier Division safety is firmly within Cumnock's hands as six points from their last four games would guarantee a spot in the new Premiership.
CRAIGMARK BURNTONIANS picked up a crucial away win as they continued their fight for the Ayrshire District League title.
Ally Gaw scored the only goal five minutes from time as they beat Ardrossan Winton Rovers at Winton Park.
They remain six adrift of leaders Irvine Victoria after they beat MUIRKIRK 3-0 at Burnside Park.
Elsewhere, AUCHINLECK TALBOT kept up their hopes of league title glory with a 4-0 thumping of struggler's Arthurlie.
Dwayne Hyslop's purple patched continued as he scored his fourth goal in three matches while Stephen Wilson bagged a double and Sean McIlroy also found the net.
The result - which saw Talbot move up to fifth, 10 points behind Kilwinning Rangers with four games in hand - confirmed Talbot's place in the new Premiership for next season.
GLENAFTON ATHLETIC also confirmed their place in the Premiership as they picked up a hard earned 1-0 win over Beith at Loch Park.
Kyle McAusland's first half goal was enough for the hosts as they moved up to fourth in the table, nine adrift of the Buffs with just one game in hand.
A 3-0 defeat against Larkhall Thistle saw KELLO ROVERS drop to 12th in the Super League First Division and LUGAR BOSWELL THISTLE'S faint hopes of sneaking into the Ayrshire District League promotion play-off took another damaging blow as they lost 6-1 to all-conquering Dalry Thistle.
