CUP specialists AUCHINLECK TALBOT lost to Lochee United in the first leg of their Junior Cup Semi-final.
Last season's runners-up lost 1-0 to the East Superleague side at Beechwood Park after Connor Birse scored late on.
Talbot now face the difficult task of winning away in Dundee to turn the tie around.
In the Super League Premier Division, GLENAFTON ATHLETIC hauled themselves into title contention with a hard fought win over Arthurlie at Loch Park.
The Glens sit 10 points behind leaders Kilwinning Rangers after the 3-2 victory - but, crucially, they have three games in hand on the Buffs.
First Division side KELLO ROVERS took a big step towards securing their place in the second tier with a 2-1 win over Cumbernauld United.
Goals from Robert Hampson and Declan Hill mean that Kello are now 10 points clear of the bottom two with games in hand on both Shettleston and Maryhill.
CRAIGMARK BURNTONIANS continued their promotion push in the Ayrshire District League as they saw off a stubborn MUIRKIRK side 1-0 at Burnside Park.
Scott Dempster scored the only goal of the game with 18 minutes left. The result means Muirkirk are still bottom of the league while Craigmark are in second place - six points behind leaders Irvine Victoria.
CUMNOCK'S game against Kirkintilloch Rob Roy and LUGAR BOSWELL THISTLE'S match against Annbank United were both postponed.
