JAMIE Glasgow bagged his 20th goal of the season for Auchinleck Talbot in their Junior Cup win over Pollok on Saturday.

The striker scored twice in the last 10 minutes to seal the 4-1 win and now he wants to see the team push on in the latter half of the season.

Glasgow said: “We’re at the business end of the season and we’ve got a decent squad and I think everybody who’s not in the team wants to be there. Hopefully that drives the group forward, we have a good group of guys in there.

“It was quite a tasty draw [for the fifth round], there were some big teams playing each other. I think any game at this stage will be difficult. I think we’ve proven against the big teams that we’ve got enough to go and win the game so we’re looking forward to seeing who we get.”

The former East Stirlingshire man started the game on the bench after recovering from a hamstring injury. Glasgow added: “The Tuesday after the first game with Pollok, I pulled up in training and I’d been out until Thursday just there.

“I joined in with training and I felt fine and good to go. I kinda expected it today but I felt good.

“To be fair, I had a heads up before the game. He pulled the three strikers aside and fair play to the two that started.

“They did well and tired them out so when I came on it was a wee bit easier.

“He looks like a bit of genius, Tucker. I’m just happy to come on and help the guys. They nicked a goal and it could have got kinda awkward towards the end but we responded quite quick and it was a good win for us.”

Talbot manager Tommy Sloan praised the striker, adding: “Jamie has come on and done the business for us. He was telling me he was fit so I can’t argue with him now.

“He had a good affect for us coming off the bench and killing the game off. I thought before that we were well worth it to be honest. I don’t think 4-1 flattered us.”
