AUCHINLECK Talbot gaffer Tommy Sloan knows his side will be in for a tight game today but admits they are confident of victory to continue their six game unbeaten run.

Since their January 3 defeat at the hands of table toppers Irvine Meadow Talbot have been in red hot form, and now look well placed to launch their title crusade.

Sloan's side face a difficult trip to high-flying Petershill, who sit just one point worse off in third place.

Talbot sit second in the Premier Division but have FIVE games in hand and are just six points off of the pace being set by Meadow.

Sloan said: "Petershill are in good form and it's always a hard place to go. But we played well last week. We've been in really good form and we are confident that we can keep it going but Petershill will be a tough game.

"We just want to keep winning games of football and we are in a strong position just now. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have the points on the board than the games in hand but with a win at Petershill we will be sitting very strong in the league."

The Beechwood has little interest in his rivals fixtures though, saying: "I couldn't care who Meadow or Hurlford are playing unless we are about to play them. We need to take care of ourselves first and foremost."

Talbot take on Petershill today at Petershill Park with a 2pm kick off.
