TALBOT boss Tommy Sloan has insisted there is more to come from his side as they look to claw back runaway league leaders Meadow.

Bot have now won four on the bounce since they slipped away to Arthurlie last month and are hot on the tail of Meadow who still sit seven points clear.

Now Sloan has to ready his side to keep their form going through the tough Christmas and New Year period, starting with a difficult trip to Beith on Saturday and then a bumper fixture with Medda at Beechwood on January 3.

Talbot took their streak to four straight wins with a hard fought 2-1 over Clydebank at the weekend.

Sloan said: “The last two games we have played well. We started the game well on Saturday and scored a great goal and then it was a bit of a stalemate.

“Now we look ahead to Beith on Saturday who are doing well in the league so far. You always get a tough game against them and they will be confident. But we just feel there is more to come and we have a bit more in the locker than we have shown the last couple of weeks but we will have to play well to get the points on Saturday.” Looking ahead to the massive game on January 3, Sloan said: “We want to keep in touch with Meadow and we have a strong squad but these games are never easy.

“They are playing well but we have games in hand that could take us just a point behind them. Obviously we’d like to be in their position at the minute, but we are not and we need to just keep racking up points. It’s going to be a huge game but first thing’s first we need to focus on Beith this weekend.” Talbot head in to the weekend’s fixture without Mark Campbell who is still recovering from an injury.
