CUMNOCK boss John McKeown has completed deals to bring two more new recruits to Townhead Park as he starts to mould his own squad.

He captured defenders Raymond Buchanan and Stephen Low last week and has added defender Ryan Kennedy and Andrew Scanlon to his squad late last week.

Kennedy joins up with McKeown again after they had a spell together at Wishaw. Former Stranraer stopper Kennedy is the younger brother of former Celtic and Scotland centre back John.

McKeown also added Scanlon to his side from Eastfield Amateurs. Scanlon is a left sided player and can fill in in defence or midfield.

Kennedy impressed in his Nock debut on Saturday despite sliding to defeat at the hands of Beith. The stopper came close to getting something from the game for his new side as he threatened from set pieces, going close with a couple of headers, one of which came crashing back off of the crossbar.

McKeown said: “We’re looking to shore up at the back a bit. I brought in Raymond Buchanan and Stephen Low last week and Ryan in this week. Stephen and Ryan partnered each other on Saturday and they looked solid enough playing together. Ryan can be a big threat from set pieces and he was unlucky not to score at the weekend.

“Andrew Scanlon is a player I’ve had my eye on for a while. He can play anywhere down the left hand side and that’s ideal for us. We need a utility player that can fill in a few positions so that’s a bonus.”
