BRIAN McLuckie says he’ll take the positives from last Saturday’s draw at Glenafton - despite conceding two late goals.

The Cumnock boss watched his men take a 2-0 lead through new boys Kieron Maxwell and Darren Mitchell and dominate the first 70 minutes.

But they fell asleep as late goals from Klark Thompson and Cammy Marlow earned their New Cumnock rivals a point.

McLuckie said “For the first 70 minutes we were the better side.

“We could have killed the game off but weren’t able to do so. That let them back into the game and, to be fair, Glenafton were the better side for the last 20 minutes.

“But I’d rather be disappointed coming away with a draw than happy after snatching one.” McLuckie spent the end of the match watching from the stands after he was sent off for kicking the ball away.

He will appeal the decision after insisting there was 'nothing in it’.

He added: “I kicked the ball away but can’t understand why I was sent-off. I spoke to the referee after the game and he said there had been nothing in it... so why did he send me off.” Nock played Talboton Wednesday night and the Nock boss insists any side the champions put out will be tough - with Bot boss Tommy Sloan set to ring the changes.

He added: “I don’t buy into this resting players. You invest in a squad and those players that come into a team will be strong and have a point to prove.

“It will be a strong Talbot team regardless of who they play.” Chris McKnight and Stephen O’Donnell return for Nock.
