BROOMFIELD Park was a sea of excitement this past weekend as it hosted the always anticipated Land O’ Burns football festival.

Over 1,200 youngsters pulled on their boots to take part as they battled the elements.

The festival took place on Saturday August 2 and Sunday August 3.

Festival organiser Duncan McIntyre said: “It went very well despite a torrential downpour on the Saturday but thankfully it held off until later in the day so we weren’t affected too badly.

“The sign of a good event is always seeing smiling faces at the presentation segment.

“We’d like to thank everyone who turned out despite the weather, their support is much appreciated.

“We’d also like to thank our sponsors, Restoraroof and Kerr and Smith for their support.” 13 to Under 16 all contested a cup final and a plate final. All age groups below Under 13 received participation medals.
