MUIRKIRK Juniors have landed a glamour pre-season friendly against a Rangers side.
The Ayrshire District squad had hoped to face the Glasgow giants as part of their 75th anniversary celebrations two years ago.
But that was shelved as the Ibrox side were in the throes of reforming following liquidation and weren’t registered in time.
This time there will be no such problems and an under 20-side, which could also consist of a number of first-team regulars, will visit Burnside Park on Tuesday, July 22.
Club secretary Billy Tait said: “It was very disappointing when the last game was called off but there wasn’t a lot we could do in the circumstances.
“But I received confirmation for this one and we are all really looking forward to the match now.
“Hopefully we’ll get a few fans through the door and it will be a money-spinner for the club.” The club are also set to confirm a host of new signings and will reveal names over the coming weeks.
