GLENS boss Tommy Bryce insists today's league clash with Kirkintilloch Rob Roy is BIGGER than their Scottish Cup semi-final.

The New Cumnock side host the Glasgow outfit this weekend desperate, for victory in a bid to edge clear of relegation trouble..

And Bryce maintains all he and his players will be focussing on points - with their last-four showdown against Camelon on the horizon.

He said: “This league game is more important and we are not even concerning ourselves with the Scottish Cup.

“We need the points on the board and that’s what I will be telling the players this week.

“They know just how important the Rob Roy game is.” Glens slumped to a disappointing Ayrshire Weekly Cup defeat to Maybole on Saturday as they suffered a reaction to their Scottish Cup.

But Bryce - who handed the likes of Stevie Millar, Craig Brown and Darren McGill rare starts - refused to make excuses for a disappointing afternoon.

He added: “We just didn’t play well - it was as simple as that really. I made a few changes to the team and gave some boys an opportunity but nobody took it, “In fairness, the defeat wasn’t down to them. We were just poor and didn’t start playing until we were 2-0 down.

“We need to pick ourselves up again and we’ll be looking for that on Saturday.” Glens have no fresh injury worries ahead of the weekend clash.
