MOVING ON UP: Glenafton get the party started at Loch Park last Wednesday

DARREN HENDERSON watched his Glenafton troops bag promotion to the Premier Division last week - and has now urged them to go one better and seal the title.

A thumping 5-0 win over East Kilbride Thistle on Wednesday guaranteed the Loch Park outfit at least second place in the First Division.

Glens now travel to Junior Cup winners Shotts in their final game of the season on Monday knowing a win would strengthen their chances of claiming the league crown.

Henderson said: "It's been a long, long season so last Wednesday was massive for us.

"We've taken 25 points from a possible 27 which takes some doing in any league. I said to the lads when we had 10 games to go that we would probably need to win eight or nine of them if we wanted to be in with a shout and that's proved to be the case.

"Shotts have got a lot of games in hand and even if we do beat them we'll be relying on favours but we're still going there to give it our best shot."
