The showpiece event of the Junior football calendar comes to our screens this weekend as BBC ALBA broadcasts exclusive live coverage of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup final between Auchinleck Talbot and Shotts Bon Accord.

Coverage of the eagerly anticipated clash from Braidwood Motor Company Stadium starts on Sunday at 4.00pm on BBC ALBA, which is available on Freeview channel 8, Virgin Media channel 188, Sky channel 168 and Freesat channel 110. The programme will be presented by Calum Macaulay who will be trackside with Cumnock manager Steve Farrell. Commentary is courtesy of Derek Mackay and Alex O'Henley.

Supporters from Auchinleck and Shotts will be out in force on Sunday to support their local sides and the fans will hope to create a carnival atmosphere as the teams look to lift the biggest trophy in the Junior game.

Auchinleck Talbot will be strong favourites going into the final and will be aiming to retain the trophy they won for the ninth time last season. That cup triumph was courtesy of a hard-fought 2-1 win over Musselburgh Athletic and they'll be hoping to taste yet more success after defeating Bonnyrigg Rose on penalties to reach the final of this season's competition.

For Shotts Bon Accord, Sunday's cup final will provide a chance to win their second Junior Cup as well as an opportunity to shock yet another Ayrshire outfit after a penalty shoot-out win over Largs Thistle in the semi-final.

As well as live match action, we speak to Auchinleck defender James Latta who is vying for his fourth winners' medal in the competition. We spend a day with James sampling the life of a junior footballer as he balances the demands of working full time with training and playing for Auchinleck.

We also take a look at Shotts' only previous cup final appearance when they won the trophy in the 1957-1958 season and see their hectic run to this final, having to contend with a fixture card of 15 fixtures in a month.

BBC ALBA is providing a premier sports package in association with mneTV covering the Scottish Junior Cup final as well as action from the Scottish Premier League, Scottish Football League and live PRO12 league rugby.

BBC ALBA is a partnership service between MG ALBA and BBC Scotland to deliver high quality, distinctive home-produced programming.
