KILMARNOCK have confirmed the worst kept secret in Scottish football by announcing Kenny Shiels as their new manager.

The Irishman was paraded at Rugby Park with assistant and fellow Ulsterman Jimmy Nicholl, who returns to the Ayrshire club after a spell as Cowdenbeath boss.

The gaffer wasted no time in starting work as he unveiled new signing Paul Heffernan from League One side Sheffield Wednesday.

Shiels admits that he will look to continue the attacking style of play that the Rugby Park men were known for last season and admits there will be more new faces joining up with striker Heffernan.

ROSS BRADY and ALAN POTTS were at Rugby Park for the Cumnock Chronicle to talk to all the men that matter as the three new boys give us their thoughts on the season ahead.
