Pictured above are some of last year’s students with Alex McLeish, Manager of Birmingham Football Club, during a trip to take part in the Repton Festival of Football, at the invitation of Manchester United .

Ayr United Football Academy is pleased to announce that it will again offer a National Qualification in Sports & Recreation - Soccer course, managed and delivered by Reid Kerr College.

This will be the second year that the Academy has offered the course to aspiring professional footballers or students who would like to follow a career in Sports and Leisure. Last year’s course was a huge success with 14 students graduating, most of whom have elected to enter the Academy’s Higher National Certificate Sports Coaching with Development of Sport - Soccer course.

Three of last year’s students have now signed a professional contract with Ayr United Football Club and they will tell you that involvement in the NQ course last year was the single most important factor in achieving their dream.

The NQ course is designed to develop the knowledge and understanding within the area of Sports and Recreation and provide experienced training sessions in football. The entry qualification requires you to show us evidence of a range of studies at Standard Grade including English or other relevant qualification.

The HNC course is designed to develop the knowledge and understanding within the area of Sports and Recreation and provide experienced training sessions in football. The entry requirements are 2 Highers including English and 3 standard grades

Pro Youth football experience would be an advantage for both courses, which will be delivered in Ayr and will include structured coaching sessions under the supervision of the Ayr United Football Club Manager and Academy coaches.

There are a limited number of places available on each course but you are not too late to apply. If interested please contact:
