STEVIE Farrell slammed the naivety of his red card sinners in Saturday's powder keg clash at Auchinleck.
Robbie Cochrane and Chris Fahey were both handed their marching orders in a game the Cumnock gaffer admits his side deserved to lose.
Farrell said: "Robbie was already on a yellow and was naive.
"He had John Boyle in the corner and he didn't need to jump in, but he did. However he'll learn from that.
"Chris Fahey apologised to the lads in the dressing room after the game. His clash with James Latta was a rush of blood to the head."
Cumnock failed to create any clear cut chances at Beechwood on Saturday - a fact not lost on Farrell.
He added: "We just weren't good enough. We didn't compete and we didn't take the game to Talbot.
"We scored over 90 goals last year but on Saturday we didn't get at them to create chances.
"We're actively trying to bring a new striker in but there are a lot of clubs in that position. At the end of the day we have to balance the books and if we're bringing someone in we may have to let someone go."
Talbot boss Tommy Sloan refused to criticise his misfiring Talbot troops who struggled to put nine man Cumnock to bed.
Sloan - who saw full back James Latta also handed his marching orders after the clash with Fahey - said: "The result didn't reflect the game but I'm not concerned that we only scored once.
"We have a lot of good goal scorers at this club who on another day could have scored a lot more.
"We created the chances which is the important thing."
